HIMACS fire resistance, low flame propagation and waterproof properties makes it ideal for impressive nautical design

HIMACS is widely used in the shipbuilding industry. On the one hand because the material is ideal for high-demand installations and is easy to maintain; on the other hand, because it meets the strict criteria of the marine sector.

It has extraordinary durability, is fire and UV resistant, has low flame propagation, is non-porousness and is impermeable.

HIMACS has excellent thermoformability properties and can be joined to give a visually seamless design which enables cruise ship, yacht and boat designers to realise any three-dimensional shape. The seamless finish ensures maximum hygiene with the additional ability to create bespoke surfaces matching perfectly the atypical interior shapes of nautical interior designs. HIMACS - IMO certified – is the ideal material for the marine industry.

A new composition of HIMACS from the High-tech laboratories of LG has been developed for use in shipbuilding. HIMACS FR, has been awarded the IMO certificate module B and D in compliance with the Marine Equipment Directive for its fire resistant and fire-retardant properties.

Main Features

Water resistant
Thanks to its non-porous surface HIMACS is suitable for humid areas where moisture can form such as wet rooms and bathrooms.

A robust and durable material
The HIMACS facade colour range withstands humidity, UV radiation or variations in temperature thanks to homogeneous, non-porous material and other advantageous properties.

Extra fire resistant formulation HIMACS FR
HIMACS-FR- version sheets in S728 Alpine White comply with IMO Standard Modules B+D and M1. FR sheets are especially suitable for use in public-buildings, external facades and in the marine industry.

Easy to maintain
HIMACS is hard-wearing, extremely repellent to stains and is therefore very easy to look after.

3-Dimensional design
HIMACS boasts a simple heating process and three-dimensional thermoplastic forming capabilities. This allows for greater forming flexibility compared with other conventional materials so that spectacular ideas can quickly take on a concrete shape.

Seamless perfection
HIMACS allows for visually seamless manipulation. Smooth integration enables large areas without joints or edges as well as flush mounting of sinks or bowls.
